Early Years and Family Support

Families with very young children are at high risk of poverty both because of the impact that having a baby or toddler has on a family’s earning capacity and also the additional costs of caring for this age group, such as nappies, formula and equipment and of course very high childcare fees.

A survey carried out by 4in10 member, Little Village among families it supports shockingly found that one quarter (26%) were forced to ration nappies and one in ten (9 %) was watering down formula. (Little Village, 2025).
